General Information
The health and well-being of our patients and staff is our highest priority. We are taking steps to ensure that everyone in our center can be cared for safely and effectively.
Des Plaines Endoscopy Center has prepared for this challenge in a comprehensive way. The endoscopy center is following guidelines regarding Coronavirus (Covid-19) from the Illinois Department of Health (IDPH), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
COVID FREE AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER
We are a covid-19 free Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). Steps have been taken to provide patients with a safe and clean environment.
Visitor Rules
In an effort to protect our patients, we have updated our visitor rules.
Upon arrival at the facility, patients will be screened with a temperature check.
Patients arriving at the center will be screened with the following questions when arriving at the center or before your appointment:
Are you feeling sick, or showing symptoms of Covid-19, or have you had close contact with someone who was recently diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19)?
Have you or someone close to you, recently traveled outside the United States?
If you are feeling sick, or answer yes to these questions: Do NOT come to the center. Please call us for further instructions.
Effective immediately and until further notice, we are not allowing visitors to remain in the reception area. Exceptions have been made for certain patient groups, including children.
During your procedure, no visitors will be allowed to wait in the reception area.
After the procedure, the center will call your designated driver when you are ready to be picked up.

What if I am feeling sick?
Please stay home if you are feeling sick.
If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, do not come to the center. Please call us and we will reschedule your procedure.
What is coronavirus (Covid-19)?
The novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is an emerging and rapidly evolving virus. For the most up to date information, visit the CDC website.
What are some symptoms of Covid-19?
Current symptoms reported for patients with Covid-19 range from typically causing mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. The virus can cause pneumonia. Older people with other health conditions seem to be at higher risk for severe illness and death.
Please call your physician’s office for instructions about testing and treatment if you have symptoms of Covid-19, which can include:
Fever
Cough
Sore throat
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Please do not go to your physician’s office, CALL FIRST. You could risk infecting others.
If you are having serious trouble breathing, go the emergency department or call 911.
How can I avoid coronavirus (Covid-19)?
If you are mildly ill, you should stay home unless you need to seek medical attention.
Take the appropriate measures to protect yourself and others:
wash your hands frequently with warm soap and water for at least 20 seconds
avoid contact with people who are sick
avoid touching your face, eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash
clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Use a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Continue to follow the CDC recommendations for preventative steps to keep yourself healthy.
